Emproof develops Emproof Nyx, a tool that transforms compiled firmware to add obfuscation, anti-tamper checks and control-flow protection without access to the source code and with low overhead suitable for small microcontrollers. It is intended to stop reverse engineering, intellectual property theft and exploitation of memory bugs in deployed devices. The company spun out of research at Ruhr University Bochum and works with semiconductor vendors and industrial device manufacturers.
