smaXtec produces a bolus sensor that stays in a cow’s reticulum and continuously measures inner body temperature, rumination, activity and water intake. Data is read by base stations in the barn and analysed in cloud software that alerts farmers to early signs of disease, heat and calving. The system is sold to dairy farms in Europe, North America and other markets, with a focus on reducing antibiotic use and improving fertility management.
