Siemens is a German industrial conglomerate whose Digital Industries business sells automation hardware and software to manufacturers and process plants. The portfolio includes SIMATIC programmable controllers, the TIA Portal engineering environment, Industrial Edge devices that run containerised apps next to machines (including the S7-1500V virtual PLC), and Insights Hub, the cloud service formerly called MindSphere, which collects machine data over OPC UA and MQTT and now packages it into applications for OEE, energy management, asset health and quality prediction plus a Production Copilot assistant.

Insights Hub is sold through Siemens sales and partners in capability packages (Essentials, Standard and Advanced, which replaced Basic, Standard and Premium) plus add-ons; no list prices are published and the former public pricing page has been removed. Known limits

  • No published list prices; packages and add-ons are quoted by Siemens or partners
  • The Cloud Foundry developer environment is not included in any capability package and must be bought separately
  • Capability packages were renamed in 2026, so older quotes and documentation still use Basic, Standard and Premium
  • Tenant login still runs on the mindsphere.io domain, a reminder that the service is the former MindSphere
